Dalton's newest idea is equal parts genius and public hazard: a Blueberry Festival paired with a Pollinator Weekend. Sawyer Ward is the festival ops lead-clipboard, checklists, backup plans, and a deep belief that order is a love language. If a weekend is going to succeed, it will succeed because Sawyer schedules it into submission. Luca Barton is the town's pollinator educator and ""butterfly guy""-gentle, bright, quietly formidable, and far too calm around chaos for Sawyer's comfort. Luca wants the weekend to be meaningful and magical: garden installs, kid-friendly workshops, and an indoor butterfly exhibit that sounds adorable right up until the first raindrop hits the forecast. Assigned as co-chairs, Sawyer and Luca clash instantly: control versus wonder, compliance versus joy. But when volunteers get overexcited, goats steal blueberries, and a sudden storm forces the entire festival indoors, they become a flawless two-person machine-saving the weekend one crisis at a time. Then a rumor spreads that ""bugs are ruining the festival,"" and Sawyer hesitates for one fatal moment. Because backing Luca publicly means admitting something Sawyer is terrible at saying out loud: that this isn't just teamwork anymore. It's wanting Luca in a way that won't fit neatly on a timeline.
