OverviewBlount County, named for the first governor of Tennessee William Blount, is located in mid-east Tennessee. These county court records are the day by day running of the county, with persons coming to court for a variety of reasons. They needed to register deeds, wills, orphans and other records of importance. There are road orders included that show persons living along a certain stretch of roads thus giving neighborhoods as they were volunteered by the court to donate ""hands"" to work the roads near their homes and property. People are mentioned in this for a number of reasons and all are of interest to the genealogist and historic researcher.
