Following his mother's passing in 1992, he set aside writing for nearly 30 years. During a battle with COVID pneumonia in 2019, he rediscovered his poetic voice, initially crafting personal pieces that evolved into customised poems based on others' experiences and memories. In 2024, his collaborative work with artist Heidi Sturgess began, creating books that blend her original artwork with his poetry. When asked about his profession now, he simply replies 'I'm a poet' - and, as he readily admits with a smile, 'don't I know it.' Heidi Sturgess has been a successful international designer and illustrator and artist for over 30 years, although she started out her career at the tender age of 15 by winning a major design competition on BBC1 in 1984. Her eponymous design brand, started in 2001, now has an international clientele and Heidi's talent as both artist and designer, have seen her work on a huge variety of projects over the years, including with Vogue, Kew Gardens, The Royal Academy of Arts and Fortnum & Mason. Heidi has recently collaborated with her friend Creag McMillan to combine her artwork and his poetry into beautiful and accessible books. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
