OverviewIn Elderfield, secrets don't stay buried-they wait to be awakened. Talia's life in Elderfield is quiet and comfortably predictable. A literature student at Stoneford University, she spends her days buried in books, her evenings working at the local bookstore, and her nights with the friends who feel more like family. In a town as quaint as Elderfield, nothing ever really changes-until the Grimshaw brothers arrive. Rhys and Silas Grimshaw take up residence in the long-abandoned Grimshaw Manor, drawing instant attention with their wealth, beauty, and carefully guarded privacy. Talia can't help but be pulled toward Rhys's brooding charm, even as her friends sense something deeply unsettling about the brothers-especially Silas, whose intense gaze seems to linger a moment too long. Then strange things begin to happen. Animal attacks leave the town on edge. Rumors spread. Friends start acting differently. And when Talia witnesses something she can't explain late one night, she begins to wonder whether Elderfield is hiding more than small-town secrets. As the town's buried history starts to surface, lines blur between myth and reality, loyalty and danger, truth and survival. Talia is forced to question everything she believes-about her friends, the Grimshaw brothers, and herself. Because in Elderfield, nothing is as ordinary as it seems... and some awakenings can never be undone. Table of ContentsReviewsGoodreads Reviews What can I say, Monique can write anything and it be beautifully written and have a phenomenal plot. I'm not a usually a YA girlie but if Monique is writing it, I'm reading it. And boy did this hit so good!! If you love the Vampire Diaries, you'll love this. I am stunned for words on how beautifully this is written. Now I am not normally one for these tropes, especially vampires and wear wolves, but I mean I can NEVER say no to reading any of M.K. Rouge's work. Give me two broody vampire brothers, a girl with magic she doesn't even know she has, plus werewolves and witches? Say less. I was hooked. M. K., you did such an incredible job. I cannot wait to see what you come up with next-your imagination is truly something special. This is my first YA novel I quite some time and I thoroughly enjoyed every second of it. The mystery and magic system is so unique, such an amazing start to the series. I can't wait to see where this leads. Left me itching to know more. If you don't normally like or read YA, you should give this a go.. it's a great enjoyable read for all. Overall, a really enjoyable 4 star read and a strong start to what looks like a promising series. I will definitely be continuing when the next book comes out. From the start to the very end, Blood Origin had me hook line and sinker. And what an ending it was! I honestly cannot wait for book 2.
