Gheorghe currently serves as a Professor of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering in the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering and is the Batten Endowed Chair on System of Systems Engineering at Old Dominion University (Norfolk, Virginia, USA). He holds a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Faculty of Power Engineering, Bucharest Polytechnic Institute (Bucharest, Romania), a Ph.D. in Systems Science/Systems Engineering from City University (London, U.K.), an MBA from the Academy of Economic Studies (Bucharest, Romania), and a M.Sc.
