Author Information

Andrew Christie is Director of the Intellectual Property Research Institute of Australia (IPRIA). He holds the Davies Collison Cave Chair of Intellectual Property in the Melbourne Law School and he has particular expertise in the areas of copyright law, patent law and trade mark law as they apply in the digital environment, and patent law as it applies to biotechnological inventions. Stephen Gare is a Partner in and Head of Intellectual Property & IT at Mayer Brown International LLP, London. He handles all aspects of intellectual property and IT, both litigation and transactional work, including: acting in many copyright matters, particularly music-related matters for EMI and other major record groups.
