"This fully revised and updated mock examination book, ensures that National Investigator's Exam (NIE) candidates are fully prepared for their multiple-choice examination. The book is designed to be in the actual exam format and so candidates can practice taking the whole exam in 2 hours. The book is A4 like the exam and is split into two handy sections, one containing the 80 question mock exam and answer sheet, and the second containing the answers and detailed marking matrix with explanations and references. Section 1, containing the mock examination paper will accurately reflect the style of the actual NIE exam, testing the candidates' knowledge of the content of the ""Blackstone's Police Investigators' Manual 2006"", with space for candidates to write their answers. Section 2, containing the answers and marking matrices will give candidates a mark for the full examination and then individual marks for their knowledge of the four subject areas: Crime, Assaults, Sexual Offences and Evidence with a section explaining how to calculate the percentage score. Author Information
Dave Pinfield is a serving officer with West Midlands Police and has been a police officer for 21 years. He has worked in CID and Plain Clothes vice operationally and is currently the Detective Sergeant Team Leader with responsibility for the force with regards to the ICIDP and IMSC courses at the Detective Training School. He was responsible for the force implementation of the ICIDP. He is a qualified police trainer and training development officer at the Detective Training School. He has passed his Certificate of Education at Christchurch College, is a Centrex trained Multiple Choice question writer and also qualified to the rank of Inspector. He has been involved in the National Investigators Examination since January 2002 and is the NIE force representative. He has provided assistance by way of night classes and seminars to officers taking the NIE from West Midlands Police, and West Mercia Constabulary and from August will be utilised in this capacity for a pilot for Essex constabulary.
