Author Information

Dave Pinfield is a serving officer with West Midlands Police and has been a police officer for 21 years. He has worked in CID and Plain Clothes vice operationally and is currently the Detective Sergeant Team Leader with responsibility for the force with regards to the ICIDP and IMSC courses at the Detective Training School. He was responsible for the force implementation of the ICIDP. He is a qualified police trainer and training development officer at the Detective Training School. He has passed his Certificate of Education at Christchurch College, is a Centrex trained Multiple Choice question writer and also qualified to the rank of Inspector. He has been involved in the National Investigators' Examination since January 2002 and is the NIE force representative. He has provided assistance by way of night classes and seminars to officers taking the NIE from West Midlands Police, and West Mercia Constabulary and from August will be utilised in this capacity for a pilot for Essex constabulary.
