Overview

The Blackstone's Police Investigators' Manual 2014 is the only official study text (used alongside the Investigators' Workbook 2014) for the National Investigators' Exam (NIE), which is taken as part of Phase 1 of the Initial Crime Investigators' Development Programme. Based on the bestselling Blackstone's Police Manuals, it provides all the legal information which is relevant to the role of a trainee investigator, namely in the areas of Evidence; Property Offences; Assaults, Drugs, Firearms & Gun Crime; and Sexual Offences. Now in its fifteenth edition, this Manual is fully updated for 2014 with new case law and legislation, including the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012, the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012, the Criminal Procedure Rules 2012, the Terrorism Act 2000, as well as revised PACE Codes C, G and H. There are also new chapters covering the Immigration Act 1971 and the Customs & Excise Management Act 1979 for investigators within immigration, customs and SOCA/National Crime Agency.
