Overview

A group of domestic cats in a quiet suburban neighborhood believe that a fatal ice cream truck accident on their block is an omen that machines are plotting to take over the world. According to an ancient prophecy, this is a foretold event that can only be prevented if a cat-hero called the invient journeys to the source of all streets - known as 'Black River' - to beseech the ancient cat goddess Bastet to save them. Though skeptical of the prophecy, the boastful, self-proclaimed ""Queen of the Block"" Angel begrudgingly accepts the challenge. But when her naive, impressionable younger sister Cyprianna is duped by two mischievous stray cats into believing she is the invient, she charges off blindly first. Now Angel must not only face the dangers of the unknown for a cause she doesn't believe in, but also rescue her sister from imminent demise. Will she find the courage to do what she must away from the cozy confines of her domain? Will Cyprianna learn enough common cat-sense to avoid the deadly pitfalls that await her in the outside world? Only when the two sisters learn to overcome doubt and recklessness can they navigate the turbulent waters of Black River while saving each other and finding the knowledge they seek in the process.
