Overviewmilk snakes are excellent, tame snakes. Milk and ruler snakes are firmly related, both having a place with the family Lamproletis, and there are a few subspecies of both lord snakes and milk snakes. Hues and examples shift between the subspecies, yet there are many striking and wonderful examples to be found among these snakes. Some subspecies use a characteristic guard of emulating the presence of the venomous coral snakes, with groups of red, dark, and yellow. Coral snakes have yellow groups contacting the red groups, while the ruler and milk snakes have dark contacting the red groups. Milk and ruler snakes can be found from southern pieces of Canada, all through the US, and in Central and parts of South America.
