Black Girlz Don't Cut is Towana's own gripping story of sexual abuse at the age of 7 and 10; again at 11 until the age of 15, and the subsequent pain that followed. Towana candidly shares her story of abuse, self mutilation, and recovery with the hope and belief that her raw truth will aid women of any color face their own truth, and the current situation that is her painful reality. Towana seeks to encourage women in situations of pain and abuse that there is hope, and most importantly there is a path that leads to a positive change, wholeness, and wellness.

"Towana C. Daniels MSW, CAC-P is an author, motivational speaker, counselor, educator, and transitional advocate for change. Towana's desire to impact the lives of girls and women is born of her own tumultuous journey through sexual abuse, domestic violence, her struggle to overcome anxiety, and ultimately, self-mutilation. Towana was born in Charleston South Carolina, where she currently resides. Her desire to see healthy, whole and fulfilled women and girls alike lead her to the field of Social Work and therapy. This passion constantly encourages her to illuminate positive change in the lives of all those she encounters. She continues to work in the area of social work, educating and counseling young women struggling with issues of addiction and substance abuse.
