Clista's parents have found a cache of thousand-year-old artifacts that belonged to the Old Ones, the aliens who lived on Rwawan before the Terran settlers. One of these pieces of ancient history is a beautiful necklace. Clista dreams about the necklace and wakes up to find it not only fastened on her neck but permanently seared to her skin. Cronoks Lab, a company that makes their profit by selling such items, will do anything necessary to retrieve this powerful necklace, including killing. That is the beginning of a bittersweet nightmare of an adventure that involves an uncle Clista never knew she had, the school psychiatrist, her uncle's friend and Frall, the high school boy she has a crush on.
