OverviewThe Birth of a Dynasty: Atlanta Braves of the 1990, s was written, photographed, and designed by a 90 year old former Tax Accountant and owner of a General Insurance Agency on Long Island NY. The story of his youth, growing up in poverty, family of eight, sleeping in the street for 30 days in Brooklyn N.Y. during the great depression of the 1930's, helped formulate his character of perseverance, aggressiveness, and sensitivity. All this is written about in his severely abridged four plus pages of his life and how he ultimately evolved into MLB and NFL world of photography. In his introduction, he unabashedly admits he is not a professional writer, but you will see by his photos that he is, and has been indeed a unusual professional photographer for the past twenty five years, all accomplished after incurring a death defying cerebral hemorrhage at age 54, subsequently spending three years attending three different colleges and 32 credits studying every phase of photography. This book is in 80% stunning color mixed with vintage black & white images of a classic Braves team comprised of a conglomeration of athletes who were not only talented, but who worshipped having fun, indulging in pranks, and were gregarious, friendly, accessible and most of all accommodating to this photographer as you will see when reading the book. The book was originally designed for the Braves fan, however, ultimately the authors latent inherency deviated into a book of personalities, idiosyncrasies, pranks and stories of fun, sadness and human behavior, that encompasses a book for everyone; not only Braves fans. It is a fast read; but slow at viewing photos. John Schuerholz, current President of the Braves wrote the foreword for which the author is eternally grateful and would like to thank him for his time and generosity and continued friendship.
