Dr. Parrish has been active in the USGS Breeding Bird Survey program, assisted with the Georgia Breeding Bird Atlas project and is an active participant in the Audubon Christmas Bird Count program. He is an avid birder and photographer, and you won't see him in the field without both his binoculars and telephoto-equipped SLR camera. Giff Beaton has been leading bird tours in Georgia and across North America for more than twenty years, and he has been on the state Bird Record Committees for both Georgia and South Carolina.
