Overview

Life can be tough where you’re a bird, and is especially tough for Herman, Beaky and Pidge. But when the cantankerous crow, young jackdaw and flighty pigeon band together as an unlikely flock, they set off for a place where they are promised shelter and food aplenty. As they set out into the wild, the trio find themselves facing a series of threats both human and animal. Will the three birds survive to make it to their final destination? And if they do, will it be everything they are hoping for?

Author Information

Anthony McGowan is one of the most widely acclaimed young adult and children’s authors in the UK. His books have won numerous major awards. In 2020, he was awarded the CILIP Carnegie Medal for Lark. He was also shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal with Rook and won the Booktrust Teenage Prize and the Catalyst Award for Henry Tumour. His YA novel The Knife That Killed Me was made into a critically-lauded film in 2014. Anthony lives in London, with his wife, two children and dog.
