He has research focus on several emerging areas of technology in the fields of biotechnology and nanotechnology, with special interest in biomedical engineering. He has commissioned a state-of-the-art research facility at Ryerson to conduct his research projects, which were funded by several agencies including Ryerson University, NSERC, and Ministry of Agriculture Canada. Prof. Dahman has long experience in developing medical devices for the health care industry, such as developing and testing novel wound dressing materials for chronic wounds. His is currently working on designing and synthesizing novel nanostructured biomaterials with focus on improving the health care industry. Prof. Dahman has supervised more than 35 graduate students and research projects. His publications include one book, more than 15 book chapters,and a considerable number of peer-reviewed articles and conference proceedings.
