Biomass Production and Efficient Utilization for Energy Generation

Overview

The book aims to present complex statistical equations and formulas in a more accessible and simplified format, in order to facilitate the proper analysis of large datasets gathered through field experiments and the drawing of accurate conclusions from such data. The book is divided into seven chapters, with the first two chapters focusing on the development of biometrics and basic statistics, as a thorough understanding of the latter is crucial for grasping the former. The third chapter explores various methods for assessing variability within a population, including D2 statistics, Euclidean cluster analysis, and metroglyph analysis, although range, standard deviation, variance, and coefficient of variation are simpler statistics for this purpose. The fourth chapter delves into breeding methods, such as selection, heritability, and selection index. The fifth chapter examines aids in selection, including important topics like correlation, path analysis, regression analysis, cluster analysis, principal component analysis (PCA), and discriminant function analysis. The sixth chapter focuses on diallel analysis and generation mean analysis as additional aids in selection. Lastly, the seventh chapter discusses varietal adaptation, with a focus on stability analysis of a variety.
