Overview

Bartolomé Lloréns (1922 - 1946) was a poet of the post-war generation, originally from the town of Catarroja (Valencia). He lived in Madrid, where he became close friends with other young poets such as Carlos Bousoño, Eugenio de Nora and José María Valverde. He also established a relationship with Vicente Aleixandre and with Dámaso Alonso, who referred to him as ""the youth perhaps more pierced of life and spirit that I have had these times by my side"", in his speech of admission to the Royal Spanish Academy. After his death, there were many who praised his figure and the quality of his poetic work. However, his name has been forgotten in most of the studies on the poetry of the forties.
