Overview

Ein alternativer Ansatz zur Nutzung verschiedener Arten von Biomasse (lignozellulosehaltige Rohstoffe) als Substrate für die Produktion von Bioethanol durch den Einsatz eines Bakterien-Hefe-Konsortiums. Cellvibrio Japonicus ist ein potentes cellulolytisches Bakterium, das über ein vollständiges cellulolytisches System verfügt, mit dem Cellulose zu Glukose, einem wichtigen Monosaccharid-Zucker, hydrolysiert wird. Anschließend kann Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Ethanolproduzent) diesen Zucker zur Herstellung von Ethanol als Endprodukt verwenden.
