Author Information

Bilassé Zongo defended his PhD thesis in September 2011 at the Université de Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso in the field of plant biology and ecology, specifically related to freshwater ecosystems. He has been a lecturer at Université Nazi BONI in Burkina Faso since September 2012, and Associate Professor since October 2020. From September 2023 to now, he has held the position of Deputy Director of the Faculty of Life and Earth Sciences.He has conducted three postdoctoral studies on wastewater management: (1) in 2012 at Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, (2) in 2016 at the International Hydrological Education (IHE) Delft Institute for Water Education, Delft, the Netherlands, and (3) in 2020 at the University of South Florida, Florida, USA. Using his results, he has published 25 scientific articles and a conference book with about 122 citations. He is currently interested in biological methods for water/wastewater treatment, water reuse and biogas and fertilizers production using recovered biomass to mitigate the impact of climate change and protect the environment.
