She is known for her work addressing harms to women and girls through sexualisation, objectification, violence, pornography, trafficking. She is author/editor of four books including Getting Real: Challenging the Sexualisation of Girls (Spinifex Press, 2009), the biggest selling title for Spinifex, and Big Porn Inc: Exposing the harms of the global pornography industry (Spinifex Press, 2011, co-edited with Dr Abigail Bray). Melinda’s frequent media appearances have included ABC Q&A and The Gruen Sessions.
