Author Information

Les Goldstein is the founder and president of Personal Financial Strategies, Inc., located in Park Ridge, Illinois. His mission is to help his clients create a retirement lifestyle for themselves and to leave a meaningful financial legacy for their loved ones. This includes identifying clients' personal financial needs, wants and wishes, then using that information to create a plan to generate the income needed during retirement and preserve assets for beneficiaries. Les has been in the financial services industry since 1983 and was formerly a vice president with a major investment firm. As an independent financial consultant, Les and his associates can properly advise clients without the need to sell specific investments or generate a certain level of commissions or fees. In addition to working with a select group of families in the Chicago area, Les is also an adult education instructor at Oakton College in Skokie and Wright College in Chicago, where he teaches courses in retirement and financial planning. He is also a frequent lecturer in the Chicago public library system and at Smart Money conferences sponsored by the Illinois State Treasurer's office. Les holds investment licenses through Securities America Corporation, a member firm of the Financial Industry Regulation Authority (FINRA) and the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). Les and Personal Financial Strategies, Inc. are members of the Financial Planning Association and the Million Dollar Round Table, an organization dedicated to educating insurance professionals in order to better serve the needs of the public. Les holds two bachelor's degrees from Indiana University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He lives in northwest Chicago with his wife, Lisa, and their two sons, Jared and Michael. His hobbies include playing and coaching basketball, reading, fishing, skiing and spending quality time with family and friends. Les believes in creating a personal relationship with every client. He also believes financial planning and investment management is not one size fits all. Les believes his company's motto of We Care More(TM) is not just a phrase; it's what he lives by every day.
