Overview

A 80-page-book. Enzo, 14, is Franco-Italian. He grew up in Paris, but his father is from Marseille and his mother from Rome. He spends two months with his maternal aunt, Zia Laura, who is only six years older than him, to improve his Italian and discover the country. Together, they travel Italy from top to toe, visiting major sites such as St Mark's Square in Venice, the Colosseum in Rome and Pompeii at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, all the while indulging in some of Italy's great culinary specialities.

Author Information

Born on the shores of the Adriatic, Laura Fanelli studied visual communications in Italy and Belgium. Passionate about story-telling and adventure, she chose to become an illustrator so that she could navigate at will through the books she creates images and drawings for. Laura loves immersing herself in different worlds, producing books and posters, and leading creative workshops. She draws and paints in her studio, grows plants, and cultivates passions and friendships. Whenever possible, she sets off on her travels, both near and far. Laura has illustrated numerous books for children and adults, published in France by L'�cole des loisirs and Le Livre de Poche. Giuseppe Sofo is a lecturer and researcher in French and translation at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. When he travels, he writes, often about travelling. He is the author of children's books translated into several languages, a near-novel (Quest'alba radioattiva, Las Vegas Edizioni, 2011), and supposedly more serious academic books on translation. For reasons that still escape him, he has played and scored for the Swiss writers' national football team.
