Biblical Mediation in Marriage and Family Conflict Resolution

Overview

Biblical Mediation in Marriage and Family Conflict Resolution introduces the TINS Framework, a theoretically grounded, biblically guided, and contextually responsive approach to resolving marriage and family conflicts. At the heart of this work is the Theory-Grounded Integrative Negotiation Strategies Framework (TINS), developed by the author in 2016. The effectiveness of the TINS Framework lies in its integration of theoretical rigor with a modular design, enabling both strategic flexibility and real-time customization before and throughout the process of integrative negotiation within mediation. This comprehensive guide equips pastors, Christian marriage and family mediators, Christian counselors, Christian leaders, and struggling couples and families with conflict resolution strategies that are grounded in contemporary theories related to conflict resolution, guided by biblical principles, and responsive to real-life complexity. Whether you are facing your own relational challenges or helping others, this book offers the theoretical rigor, theological insight, and modular tools to transform conflict into an opportunity for healing, growth, and relational transformation, all firmly rooted in biblical principles. About the Author Joshua Chee-Ning Lam, DMin, LLM, is a pastor and an accredited family mediator. He earned an LLM in Alternative Dispute Resolution from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University (2016), following foundational training in negotiation and mediation through the Program of Instruction for Lawyers at Harvard Law School, Harvard University (2002) and advanced family mediation training at University of Waterloo (2003). Additionally, he holds a Doctor of Ministry (Postmodern Generations) from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, a Master of Theology (Social Theology) from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Theology from Singapore Bible College (English Department).
