Amy Carroll resides in Atlanta, Georgia, where she and her pup, Zoey, volunteered with a pet therapy organization for eight years, visiting patients in hospitals and nursing homes, as well as local libraries, where struggling readers would come and read to her. During this time, her mom, Dee Ann Woodall, had a massive stroke in Pennsylvania. Being that Zoey had plenty of experience in bringing good cheer to patients in various medical settings, Amy and Zoey began flying up to Pennsylvania to visit Dee Ann in the hospital, rehab centers, and at her assisted living facility. Zoey provided encouragement and helped with the long road of recovery. Throughout this journey, Dee Ann and Zoey developed an incredible bond of love and friendship!
