She, along with her husband Ballington Booth (son of General William Booth), commanded The Salvation Army in the United States in the 1890s. Maud also cofounded Volunteers of America. Her place in history as an organized ministry pioneer, prison reformer and writer of books on parachurch ministry is unquestioned. Robert Jeffery, MDiv is the director of the Heritage Museum for The Salvation Army's USA Eastern Territory. The museum is located in West Nyack, New York, and is a repository for Salvation Army artifacts and archives. The museum is open to the public year-round and charges no admission. Rob is also from Nova Scotia, Canada, is a lifelong Salvationist and has worked for The Salvation Army in Canada and the United States since 2009.
