Action and mystery abound as Professor Benjamin Mortara embarks on yet another globe-trotting archaeological adventure! When the world-class archaeologist is presented with a career-defining opportunity to solve the mystery of the Map of Solomon, he begins a round-the-world journey that brings him from the greatest of European museums to the dusty rubble of a Middle Eastern war-zone. Ben is accompanied by Salman, his mysterious benefactor's trusty and resourceful assistant, and by Ronit, an Israeli artifact-hunter who hopes to safeguard the map's treasure. Together, they explore ancient palaces and secret chambers in search of the map, staying one step ahead of the many forces that seek the treasure (and its power) for themselves. The first run of Ben Mortara comics was first published by Source Point Press, but publication was halted before the final issue of the series was released. This edition puts together all four regular issues, plus a short prologue, to tell the complete story of Ben Mortara's quest for a legendary artifact. This Special Edition also contains many pages of bonus content, including preliminary sketches by illustrator Kat Baumann, an essay on story development by author Arnon Z. Shorr, and a deep dive into the art of comic book coloring by colorist Alex Zief.

Arnon Z. Shorr is an author and filmmaker of character-driven adventures and thrillers, where heroes grapple with the extraordinary, and in doing so, learn important truths about themselves.Arnon is perhaps best known for his swashbuckling graphic novel, José and the Pirate Captain Toledano. It is an expansion of his award-winning short film about Jewish pirates in the 16th century Caribbean.
