Reviews

This book traces the development of papal teaching up to its current promise and ambiguity ... Papal teaching now affirms the equality of women and men by nature in creation and grace in Christ. In so doing it departs from centuries of theological tradition. At the same time it asserts an existential difference between women and men that mandates separate social roles and thereby inequality in practice. Elizabeth Johnson csj
