Overview

In Cairo there is a saying: 'Every girl is born a dancer'. From the sensual sway of the hips to the artistic flair of the hands, the allure of bellydancing has captivated men and women alike across the ages. Known in the Middle East as the dance of the East', this ancient art encompasses more than just moves and techniques to learn the dance of a region is to become enmeshed in the life of its people. The steps and movements, history, music and culture are indeed inseparable. This easy-to-follow guide will help you tap into the natural rhythms of your body, and learn to love it as you celebrate the beauty of the dance. Bellydancing will increase your allure and put you in touch with your sensuality. It is also a pleasurable workout for women of any age or fitness level. It can even strengthen the body during pregnancy and, after the birth, help you get your pre-baby belly back!
