The cumulative name index for volumes 15 and 16 of the Beilstein Handbook is now available. This index contains more than 61 000 names for the 55 600 compounds described in the Basic Series and Supplementary Series I, II, III, and IV. To facilitate the location of compounds which received different names in the earlier series of the Handbook, the page number of entries in the Basic Series and the Supplementary Series I, II, and III are suffixed with small letters, which indicate the position of the compound on the page in question. The cumulative formula index for volumes 15 and 16 will appear in summer 1989.
