Behind the Zoo Zoo Stories from Behind the Scenes Ride along with me as I share an ark full of wild adventures, generated over a thirty-five year zoo career in Minnesota. You will hear about a young zookeeper, challenged with the daily care of zoo animals while also battling some extreme weather. You will learn about the rewards and challenges that I faced when transitioning from a zookeeper role to curator, and then on to a manager level. You will share in the joy of making personal connections with rare animals and the pain from the difficult measures used to control their danger. You'll also get to travel with me around the world while transporting animals and working on endangered species projects. So grab a pair of gloves and jump on in my zoo truck with me. I'll take you behind those public barriers of our zoo while I feed, clean, medicate, train, and wrangle zoo animals. I may ruffle your feathers a bit, but you'll be safe...I promise.
