OverviewRudolf von Jhering (1818-1892) is one of the most popular German legal scholars of international renown. There has been no other legal scholar who tremendously and publicly celebrated the breach of his legal conceptions in the middle of his scientific career. Until today, it is unclear how and how far he has been the called interpreter of his own early conceptions.
