OverviewWhen the world changes overnight, Aspen has her own, immediate, world to protect. Her horses, her land, and the business she's been building are all threatened by the shutdown and the virus causing it. For years Aspen's been wishing long-lost love, Dob, would return, and now - living alone, with so much responsibility on her shoulders - would be the perfect time for him to come back and help her out. Or would it? While the news calls for a return to normal, Aspen's begins to question whether that's what she wants. The pandemic might be giving Aspen the chance to make new decisions, new choices, a fresh start, if only she can find the courage to embrace them. What a clever way to capture the reality, the fear, and even the opportunities that come with living through a pandemic. And of course, the horses. The equestrian content is perfect. The characters are charming and quirky and real. Another beautifully-written book by Tudor. I wasn't sure I wanted to read a book about the pandemic while living it, but I shouldn't have worried! It was very soothing and uplifting and really, a lovely tribute to this country of ours (Canada!). I hope Tudor writes more fiction for adult readers. There is a calmness in this book, like in most of Tudor Robin's books, that leaves you wanting more! Like her other books this is one I will re-read many times. This book is very well written and extremely engaging. Relevant to the times. I loved the characters and how realistic it is. Highly recommend! Great story. It brings to light the choices we have even amidst a pandemic. Aspen takes on the challenge of protecting her land and her horses. What she is fighting for helps her make other decisions about her life. I highly recommend this book, and anything else from this highly talented author. Author InformationTudor Robins is the author of books to make you smile. Someday she may own a horse, but for now her guinea pig, Kiwi, is a better fit for the central-Ottawa neighborhood where she lives; commuting by bicycle and following her teenage children around basketball games and curling rinks. When she's not writing, Tudor loves riding, running, quilting, and spending time on Wolfe Island. Tudor would love to hear from you at tudor@tudorrobins.ca.
