Beethoven's Vocal Works: A Research and Information Guide is an annotated bibliography of all relevant resources relating to the vocal works of Beethoven. This guide is the first major compilation of citations for all significant resources and literature pertaining to the vocal works. The bibliography includes all relevant literature in English and major European languages, while all formats--books, theses and dissertations, articles, scholarly editions, electronic and web resources--have been considered for inclusion. In addition to both a chronology and a comprehensive list of Beethoven's vocal works, a brief biographical sketch emphasizes the significant events and contextual circumstances that pertain to these works. A discography section provides a selective list of recordings of the vocal works. All contents of the volume are cross-indexed by names, composition titles, journal titles, and general keywords.
