On skis since the age of 13 months, she's a former competitive ski racer familiar with the slopes and trails of the Canadian Rockies. After graduating in political science from the University of Calgary, she worked and lived in South Africa, England, Wales and Switzerland. Her first book,Black Taxi: Shooting South Africa(Turnstone Press. Winnipeg, Canada, 1996) is a photographic memoir about her experience as a news photographer in South Africa during the lead up to the country's first democratic elections. Her second book is the Swiss instalment of the globalCulture Smartguidebook series (Kuperard, London. Second Edition, 2016).
