"This program focuses on the common graphemes and their phonemes, combining decodable phonemic words with ""sight"" words as well as basic grammar rules so students can begin reading sentences right away. This program is designed to be administered consecutively as each new unit builds on the knowledge base of previous units. Complete all unit activities before moving on to the next unit. Each unit consists of the following components: UNIT OVERVIEW - Use as a guide for the unit. ASSESSMENT & ANSWER KEY - Use to assess knowledge at the beginning and ending of each unit. WORKSHEETS (4) - Use for student practice. POSTERS - Use for display when teaching new concepts. LARGE WORD CARDS - Use for word walls. ELKONIN-TYPE WORD CARDS - Use for phonics instruction. SMALL WORD, SENTENCE, AND ""PIG"" CARDS - Use for student practice and games.
