After graduating from nursing school in 1986, she spent her career working as a pediatric nurse, embracing a concept known as family-centered care. As Amy's mom began showing signs of memory loss, she noticed parallels between family-centered care for children and family-centered care for vulnerable adults. Similar to her experience as a young pediatric nurse, with eldercare, family members are the support system and caregivers for their loved ones, whether they are a traditional family or a group of people committed to caring for one another. Since 2004, Amy has worked and volunteered as a licensed massage therapist in healthcare and hospice settings in Cincinnati, Ohio. Additionally, she volunteers at her church, her son's school, and from time to time, at the local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
