Overview

Becca helps her grandmother fulfill a lifelong dream during a vacation packed with ""bucket list"" fun in this endearing and lively summertime picture book. After Becca learns the term ""bucket list"" from her grandmother, she decides to make her own summer bucket list, packed with everything from swimming in the ocean for the first time to baking turtle-shaped challah. But in between a water-balloon fight and a rooftop sleepover, she also has a plan to help Bubbe check an item off her bucket list. Peppered with Yiddish and Hebrew words and full of affection, this is a joyful and inspiring story that's perfect for family sharing.

Author Information

Laura Gehl is the author of more than fifty books for young readers. Before becoming a full-time children's book author, she taught high school, conducted research in a neurobiology lab, and worked as a science writer. Laura lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland, with her husband and four children. Every summer, her bucket list includes trying a new hike and a new flavor of ice cream. Sarah Lynn Baker is an artist working in the Hudson Valley. She is inspired by quill and ink, the natural beauty of her surroundings, and the powerful older women in her family, both here and gone. By day, she also runs the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators alongside her dedicated staff and volunteers. She lives in a spooky old house with her husband, two daughters, two dogs, and one very mean cat. This is Sarah's first picture book.
