If your busy being a hippy too and you find yourself out of work because you've been spending too much time daydreaming and surfing the waves of cosmic consciousness playing music can be a great way to earn a few extra magic beans to spend. I have done lots of busking (playing music in the streets for passers-by to throw you a few magic beans) its really fun, and I feel that its a great service to society bringing music and good vibes to the streets. It's a great way to connect with your local town and you are likely to meet some lovely people. I also did door to door busking when I lived in Cornwall in England - where basically I dressed up in a purple suit and top-hat and went door to door offering to play a song in exchange for 1 pound. At the time I was raising money to go to India, which I successfully managed to do, I got arrested twice (turns out you need a license to go door to door) but it was quite an adventure.
