"The Bearded Dragon, or Pogona for short, is an Australian lizard species. Because of its placid temperament, small size, and visually appealing design, this lizard is a common household pet. The lizard gets its common name, ""bearded dragon,"" from the beard-like projections of spiky skin it may raise beneath its chin when it feels threatened or wants to assert its dominance. The appearance of a bearded dragon is one of a kind. Their skin is rough and scaly, and their bodies are relatively flat. Depending on the species and region, they can have a wide range of colours, from muted greys and browns to bright oranges and yellows. They have a triangular skull and a row of spikes down each side and across their back. These reptiles are typically ground-dwellers and are diurnal, meaning they are active throughout the day. They are able to climb and dig because of their robust limbs and pointed claws. Bearded Dragons are omnivores, meaning they eat everything from insects to fruits to vegetables to tiny animals. Bearded Dragons are exotic reptiles that need special attention as pets. They require suitable lighting and nutrition in addition to a large, temperature-gradient container that allows them to maintain a constant body temperature. If handled gently at a young age, they can develop acclimated to humans and are widely believed to be gentle.
