Author Information

Kara Evelyn-McNeil has been a poet since she first learned to fumble her fingers around a sharpened pencil! Her love of whimsy, imagination and play have fuelled her progress as a children's author and self-published poet. About the Illustrator: Max Scratchmann has worked as a freelance illustrator for over three decades, has created over a hundred book covers and has won numerous art awards, including three bronze medals for collage and recycled sculpture from the Dimensional Illustrators Society in New York. He is the author of over ten books, from his warmly autobiographical account of his own childhood in colonial India, The Last Burrah Sahibs, to his highly popular nuts and bolts how-to guides for creative people. He is also a familiar face on the Scottish performance poetry scene and was take-away poet and illustrator at this year's Imaginate Youth Theatre Festival. He will be starring in the 2014 Edinburgh International Festival shows Beattie & Scratchmann Get Put Down and Moving Pictures.
