Battle for Albion: Book 5 of the Napoleonic Alternate Series

Overview

The year is 1809 War has reached British shores. First started with a surprise attack on Ireland's western coastline, the invasion of Great Britain is now in full swing, thanks to a masterfully executed landing operation across the English Channel by French Napoleonic Forces. In short, Napoleon has set foot in Dover, and all hell is about to break loose for the British. Meanwhile, more bad news streams out of Ireland, with both Marshals Masséna and Soult advancing across the land. One is aimed at Dublin, while the other is about to make his play against Cork and the entire British-controlled southern coast. The Irish civilian population, finally seeing that a savior has come to shake the hated English yoke, rise in their tens of thousands to help the French win it all. In Spain, British General Arthur Wellesley has just won a great victory over French Marshal Davout in Porto. He now sets in pursuit of the retreating Napoleonic Forces, poised to try and liberate Spain in the process. In Hungary, the Austrian Army under the command of Archduke Charles has also won a great victory against the secular Turkish enemy at Buda and then at Temesvar, and now begins the siege of Belgrade, the Ottomans' last hope of stopping the resurging Habsburg forces. Meanwhile, Russian Emperor Alexander the 1st has arrived at the head of a relief Army in the Crimea to join force swith General Kutusov. The objective is to launch a counteroffensive against the Grand Vizier's Ottoman Army of the Yedisan and boot the Turks out of the Empire to erase the stain on imperial honor that has been the twin defeats at Jassy and Kamula Hill. This is the story of the Napoleonic Wars.
