Overview

Batter Up is autobiographical and an inspirational story portraying the lives of young boys as friends, all centered around the theme of their love of baseball. The setting is a small town in Pennsylvania in the late 1950's. The story represents a journey through baseball memories, mostly as a child and some as an adult, baseball card collecting, stickball, sandlot and little league play, and creating heroes from those on the big league diamond. The story culminates with a sketch of the demise of the author's boy-hood baseball hero.

The author retired following a successful career in finance and business. His second career includes the pursuit of research and writing. He is a born story-teller and has begun writing creatively. He enjoys spending his time in the beauty of the outdoors and especially by the ocean. He is an avid fan of Penn State football, the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, loves to golf, takes walks, hikes, bikes and enjoys gardening.
