OverviewThis publication examines the fundamental methodological principles and guiding principles of the social space approach (SRO) and community work (GWA). It also describes the principles available to social educators to recognise the living conditions and contexts of young people and adults - through which they perceive and experience themselves - and to promote, together with them, collaboration with people, organisations, institutions and local political circles (cf. Rostock, 2009, p. 54ff). The research question is as follows: ""What principles guide practice in social space-oriented work and community work, and how can social educators support or (even) promote young people within their social space environment?"" In order to explain this both theoretically and in relation to practice using examples, this thesis is divided into three parts.
