Penelope was born in Manhattan, New York, and now lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee. A mother of three girls, a guardian of six, and having a degree in infant and child care from Saint Mary's Hospital for Children, she has a broad knowledge of how to interact and engage with children. As a member of the Untied States Marine Corps, she traveled the world. All of these experiences led to her writing easy-to-read learning books for children and adults. Mrs. Jacqueline S. Estes is an Artist, Color coordinator, Art Instructor and taught in the classroom for 19 years in the Chattanooga, TN area. She has instructed various ages in art from 4 years old up to adults. Her passion for sharing her talent with others, inspires who she teaches. Students are encouraged to develop their own style and dream through the art they create. She grew up in a small town of Lambertville, Michigan, a rural environment filled with acres of sprawling crops, farmhouses, and big open skies. There she found her inspiration. The beauty of nature influences her style. During her teen years, art became an escape from academic struggles and an unstable home. Her high school art teacher provided encouragement and support for Jacqueline's interest in art. Her artwork has been self-taught and recognized as a God-given talent. Later she completed a B.S. in Elementary Education at Covenant College and began teaching art full-time. In order to maintain her certification as a teacher, Jacqueline attended summer classes at SCAD: Art Institute of Atlanta and Ringling College in Sarasota, Florida. At Ringling College, she participated in a class invitational exhibition. Her preferred mediums are acrylics, watercolor, color pencil and some oils. Her blank canvas can be a window store front, a rugged piece of barn wood, metal or even a rusty worn-out antique piece or just about anything.
