Barn Raising, Barbecues & Betting the Farm: A Romantic Comedy

Overview

When Nate Ward's family barn cracks after a brutal winter storm, he does what he always does: he tries to handle it alone. Unfortunately, Dalton has other plans. Within hours, the town has organized a full barn-raising weekend-complete with volunteer crews, barbecue fundraisers, and a wildly inappropriate betting board created by Maggie McGlynn (who insists it's ""community morale,"" not gambling). The only person more determined than the town to fix Nate's problem is Theo Barton, a calm construction foreman who shows up with blueprints, a hard hat, and a refusal to let Nate carry everything by himself. Nate believes accepting help means failing his family legacy. Theo believes caring for people is part of the build. As they work side by side-lifting beams, arguing over safety procedures, and feeding half of Dalton at sunset-Nate discovers that Theo's steady presence is more dangerous than any storm. Because it isn't pity. It's partnership. And partnership might mean wanting something Nate isn't sure he's allowed to have. But when money worries and old pride collide right before the fundraiser finale, Nate pushes Theo away... and risks losing more than the barn. Sometimes rebuilding a structure is easy. Rebuilding a heart is the real work. Barn Raising, Barbecues & Betting the Farm is a warm, funny small-town romantic comedy featuring found family, community chaos, gentle competence, goats who absolutely were not invited, and a love story about learning that strength isn't doing everything alone-it's choosing who gets to stay.
