Table of ContentsReviewsWell-written, gorgeously photographed, a very good introduction.--Nancy Bent Booklist (10/15/2011) A must-have for anyone interested in the Barn Owl!--Ian Paulsen The Guardian (09/25/2011) The text is illustrated with large colour photographs throughout. The author refers to a wide selection of Barn Owl literature, including research based in North America, Ireland, and various counties of Great Britain, Holland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Malaysia... Recommended.-- (12/01/2012) Barn Owl is a fantastic book about the life history and ecology of a fascinating species that many people know little about due to its primarily nocturnal movements. The author weaves an informative and fact-filled lesson... Best of all, unlike many natural history books, once you complete one chapter you want to read the next until you have quickly devoured the entire book. The book is wonderfully illustrated with numerous color photographs that greatly enhance the overall presentation... I highly recommend this book for public, high school, and college libraries and even wildlife biologists.-- (01/01/2012) A volume as beautiful (there are interior shots of nesting owl dens that are in themselves worth the price of admission) and informative as this one can only do barn owls good, increasing knowledge and awareness of this beautiful, haunting bird who has flown through the human imagination for ten thousand years. This is a very nicely-turned product from Firefly Books, and one can only hope that it prompts all of its readers to go outside at sunset and see if they can spot the real thing.-- (03/01/2012) Barn Owl is a fantastic book about the life history and ecology of a fascinating species that many people know little about due to its primarily nocturnal movements.
