Cherry Distinguished Professor of Christian Thought and Ethics at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada. Previously, he was professor and chair of the department of Religion and director of the programme in Baptist Studies at Baylor University, and dean of Theology at McMaster University. Brackney also served as executive director of the American Baptist Historical Society. He has authored more than thirty books and scores of articles on Post Reformation Protestantism and Baptist Studies, and the religious foundations of Human Rights. Brackney is editor of the thirteen-volume Baptist in Early North America series. Charles H. Hartman currently teaches at Roger Williams College in Barrington, Rhode Island, in the area of Western thought. Previously, he was pastor of First Baptist Swansea, Massachusetts, and an officer of the Baptist Historical Society of the American Baptist Churches of Massachusetts.
