Bandit the Bush Turkey: On the Farm

Overview

Bandit the Bush Turkey has a brand-new job on Mr Wumpy's farm, and he's determined to do it right. But when his 'helping' turns into splattered mud and a runaway lawnmower, Bandit realises enthusiasm isn't always enough. Still, giving up is not the bush turkey way and with every mistake comes another chance to try again. In this first Bandit adventure, readers will laugh at Bandit's muddles while cheering for a bird who proves heart will always shine through.

Author Information

Bryan Phillips grew up in Northern Victoria and has fond memories of riding his Malvern Star bike around a dusty Mallee town with his best friend looking for cordial bottles to convert into Choo Choo bars. His family moved to a vineyard and orchard when he was nine where he had to contend with tiger snakes, rabbits and swooping magpies. His first encounter with a bush turkey was in Brisbane where it tore up his back yard destroying the vegetable patch and garden beds. He lives with his interior designer wife by the sea in Lennox Head near Byron Bay. When he is not writing and tilting at the sun, he and his wife enjoy restoring period houses, playing golf and tennis and travelling. Triandhika Anjani, or usually just called, Dhika, is a Canberra-based illustrator originally from Indonesia. She has loved illustrated books since childhood and always dreamed of bringing stories to life through art. She enjoys drawing, sketching, reading, and occasionally, playing games. The sky, light, and natural landscapes are sources of inspiration for her and the subjects of many of her artworks.
